Black tea. Mango flavor. Calendula petals that look pretty and add subtle floral notes. Sweet, smooth, summery. The kind of tea that works hot but really shines iced. Not trying to be fancy. Just trying to taste like someone figured out how to make mango tea without it tasting like artificial candy. Mission accomplished.
Tea Type: Flavored Black Tea (Caffeinated)
Base: Black Tea
Flavor: Mango (natural)
Vibe: Sweet, fruity, summer in a cup
Mango Treat
Body: Medium
Astringency: Medium
Sweetness: High (from mango flavor)
Flavor Profile: Ripe mango 🥭, Fruity black tea, Sweet tropical notes, Smooth finish
This is fruit-flavored tea done right. The black tea base brings body and structure. The organic mango flavor adds sweet tropical character without tasting synthetic. Calendula petals contribute subtle floral notes and make the tea look like summer.
Hot, it's smooth and aromatic. Iced, it's ridiculously refreshing. The kind of tea you make by the pitcher and keep in the fridge all week.
🔴🔴🔴⚪⚪ Medium
Black tea caffeine. About 40-60mg per cup. Enough to keep you functional. Not so much that you're vibrating.
Base Tea: Black Tea (smooth, fruity base)
Flavoring: Organic Mango Flavor
Additions: Calendula Petals (edible flowers)
Flavored teas get a bad rap because most of them taste like chemicals. This one doesn't. The secret? Starting with good black tea and using natural mango flavor that actually tastes like fruit.
The black tea base is chosen for its natural fruity character that complements mango. The organic mango flavoring adds sweet tropical notes without overwhelming the tea. Calendula petals (bright orange flowers) add visual appeal and subtle floral undertones.
It's simple. Tea, flavor, flowers. But done well, simple works.
Hot Tea (Standard)
Amount: 2.5g tea per 12oz water
Water: 195°F
Time: 5-10 minutes
Pro tip: Go longer for more mango flavor. Black tea can handle it.
Iced Tea (Recommended)
Amount: 5g tea per 12oz water (brew double strength)
Water: 195°F
Time: 7-8 minutes, pour over ice
Pro tip: This is what this tea was made for. Brew strong, ice it, add a lemon wedge.
Cold Brew
Amount: 2.5g tea per 12oz cold water
Time: 8-12 hours in fridge
Pro tip: Cold brewing brings out sweetness and reduces any astringency. Smooth as hell.
Why calendula? Calendula (pot marigold) is an edible flower used in teas for both flavor and appearance. The bright orange petals make loose leaf tea look more appealing. They add subtle floral notes that complement fruity flavors without overwhelming them. Plus they're loaded with antioxidants, if you're into that.
Natural vs artificial flavoring: "Natural flavor" means extracted from actual fruit or plant sources. "Artificial flavor" means synthesized in a lab. Both are safe, but natural generally tastes less chemical. This tea uses organic natural mango flavor, which is why it actually tastes like mango rather than mango-scented candy.
Best iced tea method: For maximum flavor, brew hot and strong (double strength), then pour over ice. This concentrates the flavor before dilution. Cold brewing works but takes longer and produces more subtle flavor. Hot-brewed-then-iced gives you the best of both worlds.
