Specialty coffee blended with Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, and Reishi mushrooms. Smooth, full-bodied, with subtle earthy notes from the mushrooms. These aren't magic mushrooms (sorry). They're functional mushrooms used in traditional medicine for centuries. Whether you believe in their benefits or just like the flavor, this is coffee that tastes like coffee, not dirt.
Roast: Medium
Additions: Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Reishi
Vibe: Functional, smooth, morning ritual
Coffee with Mushrooms Medium Roast
Body: Full and smooth
Acidity: Medium
Tasting Notes: Chocolate, Subtle earthiness from mushrooms, Balanced and clean
This is specialty-grade coffee first, functional beverage second. The mushroom blend adds subtle earthy depth without making it taste like you're drinking forest floor. Lion's Mane contributes mild umami. Cordyceps adds almost nothing flavor-wise. Reishi brings slight bitterness that balances the coffee's natural sweetness.
The result? Coffee that tastes like good coffee with a hint of earthiness. Not weird. Not mushroom-forward. Just coffee with depth.
🔴🔴🔴⚪⚪ Medium-High
Standard coffee caffeine. About 95mg per 8oz cup. The mushrooms don't affect caffeine content. Still coffee. Still wakes you up.
Base: Specialty-Grade Coffee
Mushroom Blend: Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Reishi Powder
This is ground coffee (medium roast) blended with powdered functional mushrooms that have been used in traditional practices for centuries:
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus): Traditionally valued for cognitive support and clarity. Mild flavor, slight umami.
Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris): Long used for energy and stamina in traditional Chinese medicine. Virtually flavorless.
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum): Known as the "mushroom of balance" in traditional practices. Slightly bitter, grounding.
These are NOT psychedelic mushrooms. They're functional mushrooms that have been consumed for health purposes for thousands of years. Whether or not you believe in their benefits, they add interesting depth to coffee without overpowering it.
The coffee itself is specialty-grade (80+ points), medium roasted for balance. The mushroom powder is added after roasting, maintaining both coffee quality and mushroom compounds.
This product comes pre-ground (medium grind) because the mushroom powder is already mixed in. Can't separate it. Can't choose grind.
Best for: Drip coffee makers, pour over, French press (works but expect some fine sediment from mushroom powder).
Drip/Auto Drip (Recommended)
Ratio: 2 tablespoons per 6oz water (standard coffee scoop)
Temp: 195-205°F
Pro tip: The mushroom powder may leave slight sediment. That's normal. Stir before drinking or embrace it.
Pour Over
Ratio: 1:16 (15g coffee : 240g water)
Temp: 200-205°F
Time: 2:30-3:00 minutes
Pro tip: Paper filters catch most mushroom powder. Less sediment than French press.
French Press
Ratio: 1:15 (20g coffee : 300g water)
Temp: 200°F
Time: 4 minutes
Pro tip: You'll get more sediment this way. Some people like it. If you don't, use a paper filter.
Why add mushrooms to coffee? Functional mushrooms have been used in traditional medicine for centuries. Modern interest comes from compounds like beta-glucans (immune support), hericenones (Lion's Mane), cordycepin (Cordyceps), and triterpenoids (Reishi). Whether these compounds survive coffee brewing and provide measurable benefits is still being studied. But people have been adding mushrooms to hot water for thousands of years, so there's that.
Why these three mushrooms? Lion's Mane is associated with focus and clarity. Cordyceps with energy and stamina. Reishi with calm and balance. Together they create a blend that theoretically supports focus without jitters. But honestly, placebo effect is real and powerful, so if you think it helps, it probably does.
Sediment is normal: Because this is powder mixed into ground coffee, you may get fine sediment in your cup. That's the mushroom powder. It's not going to hurt you. Some brewing methods (paper filters) catch most of it. Others (French press) don't. Just stir it before drinking or embrace the texture.
Real mushroom powder vs extracts: This uses real powdered mushrooms, not extracts. Extracts concentrate specific compounds but may remove others. Whole mushroom powder includes everything. The trade-off? Sediment. But you're getting the complete nutritional profile.
